Marco Kartman is Business Innovator for Translink in The Netherlands. With more than 3 decades of experience in the public transport sector Marco has been involved in various projects that made the introduction of the OV-chipkaart in The Netherlands possible. The OV-chipkaart, in use by 15 million people, is being succeeded by OVpay. OVpay is based on EMVc and is account based. Marco, as part of Team Translink, is managing a number of innovative projects in cooperation with the 9 Dutch PTO’s and various industry partners to make that transition happen, again.
