In the past 25 years Geert held various leadership positions at Siemens in Germany, Belgium and the UK. Geert is a Belgian citizen and speaks fluent English, French, German and Dutch. After graduating as an Electro-Mechanical Engineer (Hons), Geert started his career in Brussels. He gained significant experiences through successful positions in sales, project and product management in the telecom business. Geert headed an international expert team in London supporting IT projects on a global basis. After a senior management position in corporate development for 6 years, Geert moved to the transportation division focusing on Automatic Fare Collection and intermodal solutions. As a Sales Director based in Munich, Germany, he combines his international experience with specific technological expertise. He was involved in many projects in Asia, Middle East, Europe and Africa. Besides the traditional Automatic Fare Collection business Geert has taken an active leadership role within Siemens for new innovative solutions relevant for the transportation business. In his current function, Geert is heading the global Business Development for Innovative Technology in the Mobility domain. Geert is an experienced speaker on congresses and exhibitions. Some examples: The MENA Rail conference in October 2015 (Dubai, UAE) and the Transport Ticketing Event in May 2015 (Johannesburg, South Africa), InnoTrans Berlin (Sept 2016) and UITP conference in Singapore (Oct 2016).
