Briony joined the UK Cards Association as principal policy adviser in 2013. She works on a range of issues for the card payments industry, including managing the impact of regulatory changes such as the new Payment Systems Regulator, and understanding changing consumer requirements for payment systems, including online and mobile use. Since 2014, Briony and colleagues have been running an industry project to create a consistently good consumer experience using contactless payments in the retail, transit and charity sectors. This follows on from the successful working relationship UK Cards has had with Transport for London (TfL), acting as the liaison point for the card industry to support the launch of contactless cards on the TfL network. Previously Briony worked for the insurance trade body, the Association of British Insurers, for 7 years, running projects on motor and liability insurance issues.
