Richard Rowson
Richard is a freelance consultant, focused on customer centric technology in public transport.
Typical engagements focus on product and market strategy for customer propositions such as retailing, payments, mobile ticketing, PAYG, revenue management and fares policy.
Richard has enjoyed a diverse portfolio covering tech start-ups, operators, suppliers, retailers and public sector, which has given a unique breadth of understanding of the different issues, cultures and ways of working across the sector.
Prior to consulting, Richard led Product Development at Trainline for 8 years – where he oversaw the transformation from a proposition focused on long-distance pre-planned journeys booked on computers and collected at stations, to a proposition focused on mobile apps, with mobile tickets, for all journeys including walk-up. Prior to Trainline Richard was Head of Retail Development at National Express.
