Luc van Wijngaarden (1970, the Netherlands) studied Econometrics & Operational Research at the University of Amsterdam. He kicked-off his career as a management consultant, before he - in 2001 - started working for Transdev-Connexxion, the largest bus operator in the Netherlands. He was involved in implementing the nationwide AFC-system and responsible for marketing, sales & pricing.

In 2009 Luc was one of the founders of Zight. With Luc as its CEO, Zight supports the transit industry in benefitting from the value of their available data. With transit intelligence systems, training and consultancy Zight helps operators and authorities to optimise profit, performance and customer satisfaction.

Zight offers its clients an integrated approach, because we know that technology alone will not get you from big data to big impact. Essential items are: collective design, ownership, prototyping and performance improvement cycles.

Zight has grown into an international market leader, offering services to clients like Arriva, Qbuzz Trenitalia, RATP DEV, RET Rotterdam, RTA Dubai, EBS Amsterdam, UITP, Dutch Railways, CDTA Albany (NY) and many more.
