Justin Southcombe
Justin joined Hitachi Rail as Commercial Director following the acquisition in April 2022 of Perpetuum, a digital asset management start-up. He was responsible at Perpetuum for the Go to Market strategy and Sales from 2014 until the successful exit to Hitachi. Prior to this he was at Alstom Transport where he held senior international roles in tendering, strategy and operations in the rolling stock and infrastructure business units.
He has over 25 years’ experience in transportation and mobility, mainly in service segments where he has continuously applied digital technologies to drive better results for his clients. Justin has followed the digitalisation of asset management since 2007 but since joining Hitachi he has been focusing on the emerging market of digital mobility services, such as account-based ticketing, flow management and Mobility as a Service.
Justin holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Surrey (UK), an MBA from INSEAD (FR), is a chartered engineer with the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and has successfully completed “Artificial Intelligence in business” with MIT (USA).
