Erika is CEO of MaaStran Ltd and a Director of Smartran Consulting, and has been instrumental in the company’s success, particularly in its undertakings in Local Authority and Transport schemes. Erika has over 20+ years of UK and international experience managing people, process, and technology with a Master of Business Administration – MBA (2020 with Distinction) from Durham University Business School.
Project and contract management experience include project delivery, stakeholder management, transport ticketing, Fintech payment services, Local Authority Smart City initiatives, Net Zero objectives, payment methods and reward and loyalty schemes. For The Smart Transport Advisory Group (STAG), Erika advised and finalised the preparation of guidance for smart and account based ticketing, ‘Contactless in Transit Guidance For Transit Schemes & Operators February 2022’. This guidance document was created to help authorities and transport operators navigate the challenges of implementing a multi-operator contactless transport scheme (i.e., where contactless payment card and mobile payment apps can be used to pay for multiple journeys with different operators each day and only pay one charge).
Erika also has comprehensive expertise in preparing financial proposals, bids, and business strategies. Previous clients include Multi-National Conglomerates, JV (Joint Ventures), ESG and Major Government Departments, Finance and Payments, Transport and Mobility Operators, and Technology organisations. Erika is regularly called upon to present at industry events and lead workshops, most recently giving presentations for the Transport Card Forum and Transport Ticketing Global.
