Dr Andrew Seedhouse
Andrew has been at the leading edge of Sustainable Transport development for over 25 years. He started his career in the rail sector, helping establish Community Rail initiatives & Policy. He progressed to be an initial founder and regional Chairman of Traveline for SW England, before joining First Group’s UK Bus Division, leading on Smart Ticketing and ITSO. Andrew left First in 2003 to join the DfT as Head of Local Transport Planning South West England. From his commitment to effective partnerships between the Public and Private sectors, Andrew later established Smart Applications Management [formerly SWSAL] in 2010, which has grown to be the UKs largest Membership Owned smart ticketing managed service provider. SAM is the owner of the National Mobilities Procurement Hub. In addition to being the Chairman of SAM, Andrew is also the Director of Transport for the University of Plymouth.
