Christine is head of the A-Welle tariff association's. Her team aims to give easy access to the Swiss public transportation system in the area of Argovia and Solothurn. The current Swiss public tariff systems distinguish between national distance-based pricing and regional pricing systems, which are mostly zone-based. "Our customers are getting lost in this tariff jungle if we don't offer access tools like the FAIRTIQ APP on smartphones", she states. "Now, our customers swipe to the right on their phones before entering busses and trains, and check-out when leaving the vehicle." This Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) system guarantees the best daily prices (and in A-Welle area even the best monthly prices). Since December 1st 2024, A-Welle also grants immediate discounts depending on user expenditure within the calendar month. "Together with FAIRTIQ we encourage more people to commute on public transportation rather than in privately owned cars."
