Bertrand Minary
Bertrand Minary has more than 25 years of experience in a wide range of entities (from SME’s to big groups) in the railway sector, in operations, sales, customers services, manufacturing industry and services, strategy, partnerships, projects and innovation, that is a trend all along his career. He’s considered as one of the best European expert of technology for railways. He’s graduated in Supply Chain and Digital Transformation.
After a career at SNCF in many operational positions, especially in rail freight business, he held the position of Chief Technical & Innovation Officer for Rail Logistics Europe, the 2nd rail freight player in Europe, while also being in charge of the innovation program for Alliance 4F (Fret Ferroviaire Français du Futur).
In this capacity, he was heavily involved in the high-level management of European programs such as DG MOVE's Digital Transport and Logistics Forum, Shift2Rail / Europe's Rail JU, Rail Freight Forward and the DAC Delivery Program.
From 2021 to 2024, he has headed the Railenium, a private-public technological research institute, which drives innovation for the French rail industry, in support of ecological transition and competitiveness. He boosted its activity and fame in France and Europe, with many new projects for passengers mobility, decarbonised railway, digital infrastructure, intelligent and autonomous trains. As one of the results, he funded the national comity for railway innovation (CORIFER). He also headed up the i-Trans cluster, a support tool for innovation in the rail industry and other Mobility sectors, for which he obtained the renewal of its label by the French government.
Bertrand Minary was appointed as UIC Passenger Director and coordinator of the Middle East and Latin American regions in April 2024.
He also teaches Supply Chain Management and International Transport in Universities and Engineering schools.
