Bas was educated at Erasmus University Rotterdam, where he studied Business/Strategic marketing management. Prior to working at Arriva NL, he worked for more than a decade for GVB, the local PTO, in Amsterdam. In this role he held several commercial and project roles, inclusing the company-wide responsibility for sales and marketing as well as market-introduction of the OV chipcard smart card system. Presently Bas has worked for more than a decade for Arriva NL and held commercially end responsible roles. Currently he acts as the Director of External affairs. Besides working for Arriva NL, Bas holds the position as National Program Director Payment innovations (OVpay) for all Dutch PTO’s.
