GMV’s ABT Fare Collection Solution represents the next generation of ticketing technology for public transportation. Combining innovative hardware and back-office systems, this modular and scalable solution supports multi-fleet, multi-operator environments, offering secure, flexible, and efficient fare management. Passengers benefit from the simplicity of cashless, contactless travel, while operators gain centralized control over operations and analytics.

 

  • Seamless and Secure Payments

The solution integrates EMV technology, enabling passengers to use contactless credit/debit cards, mobile payment apps, and smart cards to pay for journeys. This ensures high levels of security, minimizes fare evasion risks, and eliminates the need for physical tickets or cash handling.   • Flexible and Intuitive Account-Based Ticketing

GMV’s ABT Fare Collection Solution transitions from traditional ticket-based models to account-based systems, allowing passengers to manage their accounts effortlessly. The system calculates and deducts fares automatically based on travel details, offering a paperless and user-friendly experience. What’s more, the ABT Fare Collection Solution is designed for seamless integration with Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), including fleet management tools. It features an HTML5-based front-end for multi-operator environments, allowing each operator to manage configurations independently.

GMV’s solution includes in-house designed hardware tailored to both onboard and station environments. Onboard devices such as validators and driver-operated Electronic Ticketing Machines (ETMs) ensure fast and efficient validation processes for high passenger volumes. Station equipment includes Ticket Vending Machines (TVMs), access control systems, and card personalization stations. All devices are optimized for durability and seamless data exchange through wireless communication for transaction and configuration updates.

The ABT back-office system, compliant with EMV White Book standards, provides a robust framework for fare management and integration. Key components include the ABT Control Centre, a web-based platform for managing user accounts, profiles, and fare products while monitoring transactions. The ABT List Manager ensures real-time or offline updates of allowed and blocked tokens. The ABT Business Manager handles fare calculations, deductions, and rules. The ABT Tap Reader processes validation data into the database, and the Web Services API enables seamless integration with third-party systems. These are just a few tools in its comprehensive suite supporting modern ticketing transit operations.
